Greensville Correctional Center is a large VADOC state institution in Jarratt. A 2023 PREA audit reported a designed capacity of 2,719, a population of 2,123 at the audit point, and an average of 2,156 during the prior twelve months. Those figures belong to that audit period. They are not a current census and do not show how many people were released.
VADOC reorganized the institution’s population into three clusters with separate leadership structures in 2024. An agency announcement reported 2,371 people in June 2024.
