VINE does not promise a durable released-person archive. Notifications stop after release. A person who is no longer searchable could have been released, transferred, renamed, or removed through normal system behavior. Absence alone proves none of those outcomes.

Register Greensville Release Alerts
Notification registration begins on the matched person record. The available screen controls which contact methods and optional events can be selected. NAAVI can provide approved registrants with anticipated release, actual release, transfer, death, name change, work release, escape and recapture, parole interview, and parole-decision events. VADOC says anticipated release notice is typically issued about 30 days ahead. Actual release means the person is no longer in VADOC custody, after which state notifications stop.

This separate registration is vital in Greensville County, where the regional jail and a large state prison share the county name but not the same notice system.
Greensville State Custody Check
For a person in Greensville Correctional Center or another state facility, begin with the VADOC Inmate and Supervisee Locator. Greensville Registry Alerts Differ
The Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry has search and alert tools for qualifying records.
